You Will Be Responsible For:

Human Resource Management - Monitors performance of the staff and takes corrective action for improvement as appropriate. Uses independent judgment to:
Selects applicant for interview and hire and assures appropriate orientation.
Suspend or invoke other discipline for work infractions, performance deficiencies and conduct violations by exercising supervisory authority.
Evaluates supervised employees, recommends promotion of supervised employees, and recommends bonuses and awarding of other discretionary rewards to supervised employees.
In collaboration with the Human Resources Department, terminates supervised employees, where appropriate.
The assignment of employees to particular duties or activities or to authorize and assign overtime to employees where appropriate.
The adjustment/resolution of complaints, concerns, and problems of supervised employees regarding work assignments, hours of work overtime scheduling, and other work-related matters.
Assures diversity of staff is positively fostered in the work environment. Actively involves all groups in shared decision-making where appropriate.

Minimum two years acute care nursing practice experience upon hire
Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing (BSN) required upon hire
Two years of supervision experience required upon hire
Master of Science degree in Nursing (MSN) highly preferred.
Active Florida RN license required upon hire.
Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification upon hire.
Current American Heart Association Advanced Life Support (ACLS) certification upon hire.
Current American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification upon hire.
2 hours Stroke Education within 6 months of hire date, then 1 hour annually.
4 hours Hip & Knee Replacement Education within 6 months of hire date, then annually.
The Perioperative Nurse Manager is a registered professional nurse who has the most direct impact on the care and services that patients and families require throughout their preoperative and postoperative experience. This Manager is directly responsible to the Director of Surgical Services and is responsible for the continual operation of specified nursing units including Preadmission Testing, Pre-op Surgical area, Post Anesthesia, and Endoscopy. The Manager can demonstrate critical thinking skills, creativity, and has the knowledge to manage resources to achieve quality performance, positive employee relations, and compliance with hospital guidelines. The Manager is skilled in coaching, motivating, mentoring, and leading a professional and technical team in the delivery of services for our patient population. The Manager assumes quality of care is delivered for our patients and demonstrates effective stewardship of scarce resources. The Manager is the change agent for the assigned areas of responsibility and are responsible for implementing any changes that the unit is required to undergo. The Manager actively participates in outstanding customer service, including service to patients, families, physicians, and other contacts, and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.
