Payer Administration Director - 3rd Party Contracts

The Pharmacy Services division of UK HealthCare, the academic medical center of the University of Kentucky, has an outstanding opportunity available for a Payer Administration Director for Third-Party Contracts. The Payer Administration Director will work with pharmacy leadership, the Executive Vice President for Health Affairs’ Revenue Management Contract team, and the Office of Legal Counsel in order to serve as the primary point of contact for third-party payers in receiving, triaging, reviewing, negotiating, and responding to all retail, specialty, mail-order, and infusion pharmacy contracts. This individual will also cultivate third-party relationships with pharmacy benefit managers, medical plans, and select drug manufacturers with the goal of supporting UK HealthCare Pharmacy Services while maximizing value. The Payer Administration Director formally reports to the Enterprise Director of Pharmacy Services, with a dotted line to the Chief of Commercial & Governmental Payor Administration. The ideal candidate for this position will have exceptional negotiation, strategic thinking, attention to detail, relationship-building, and communication skills. The ability to effectively communicate with individuals at all organizational levels as well as external partners is essential, as well as the ability to seamlessly communicate, manage and preserve sensitive information while maintaining a high degree of confidentiality. Of additional importance to the success of the individual in this position is a strong background in, and familiarity with, the pharmacy industry, specifically with technical terms and processes. JD, Kentucky pharmacist licensure or eligibility, and at least six full years of paid employment experience in analytics, project management, pharmacy, Pharmacy Benefit Manager (PBM) agreements, medical contracting, and reviewing, redlining, and negotiating contracts, is highly preferred. |
