The Clinical Informatics & Drug Shortage Specialist will oversee the UC Davis Health drug shortage management plan including monitoring and forecasting medication shortages, operationalizing action plans to mitigate shortage impact, and provide supply chain and clinical expertise for product substitutions. In collaboration with clinical leaders, this person will lead and drive new and alternative product selection based on best financial practices and clinical evidence. In addition to drug-shortage oversight, they will maintain organization-wide inventory management systems and ensure system design and integration with other medication management systems to enhance safety & efficiency within the med-use process. The clinical informatics & drug shortage specialist will serve as the primary liaison to the IT technical teams with regards to all med-use management workflows & will be recognized as the department content expert in navigating and implementing med-use systems & technology.
