You Will Be Responsible For:

Operations:

• Plays a major role in the development and implementation of organizational strategic initiatives that aligns with the SMMC’s ambulatory strategic network.
• Establishing policies and carrying out those policies as approved by the Management Board.
• Practice effective communication and problem solving skills to promote positive physician relations and engagement.
• Collaborates with the Surgery Center Medical Director and the Medical Staff to design and improve services.
• Participates in annual capital and budget planning and is accountable to manage within budget and productivity targets.
• Identify supply, equipment, technology for high quality care and efficient practices; maintains efficient inventory and supply expense management.
• Demonstrates expertise in financial data analysis and utilizes sound financial management principles.
• Ensure efficient business front office operations: scheduling, insurance verification and registration.
• Ensures medical staff credentialing is processed timely and accurately for the surgery center.
• Demonstrates understanding of managed care contracting and managing care effectively within contracts.
• Hiring, directing and supervising of employees to assure quality care and services.
• Develop highly effective teams and processes that focus on patient experience, safety and quality.
• Assist in development of programs for recruitment, retention, recognition, professional development and continuing education for all staff members.
• Ensures operation efficiency utilizing benchmarking and best practice standards.

Quality

• Assure that the activities within the ASC meet or exceed regulatory compliance with local, state, federal and accreditation agencies requirements.
• Risk Manager responsible for implementation the center’s Risk Plan and required reporting.
• Ensures timely reporting of all Ambulatory Surgery Quality and Regulatory data.
• Responsible for developing and establishing priorities for, implementing and maintaining the center’s performance improvement plan, safety plan and environment of care plan.
• Uses data and information to guide decisions and to understand variation in the performance of processes supporting safety and quality.
• Responsible for implementing the surgery center’s Infection Control Plan; investigating, controlling, reporting, and prevention of infections within the Center.
• Knowledgeable of AORN and ASPAN Standards and Recommended Practices.

What You Will Need:

• Bachelor’s Degree
• 2 to 5 Years of Position-Related ASC Experience

• Kansas Registered Nurse License

Job Summary:

The Director Surgery Center plays a major role in the development and implementation of organizational strategic initiatives and long term business planning. The Director is responsible for the overall operations and patient care processes for the Shawnee Mission Surgery Center. The position will be accountable for establishing policy while providing sound operational planning and day-to-day management. The Director will assure compliance with all governmental and accreditation regulations, Ambulatory Surgery Center Quality Reporting, and the Infection Control Program for the Ambulatory Surgery Center.
