The Director, Pharmacy Strategy and Innovation will play a critical role in SCAN's strategic pharmacy transformation across a wide array of growth, innovation, clinical care and population health management initiatives aimed at improving the health and independence of older adults.
Lead the development and execution of pharmacy strategy and innovation in partnership with key leaders across the department and organization in service of our mission of keeping seniors healthy and independent.
Identify, incubate, anticipate and develop new opportunities to leverage the constant changes to the pharmacy landscape.
Partner with strategic stakeholders across organization. Partnerships with organizations may include licensing (excludes drug, device, diagnostics), joint-launch, acquisitions, commercialization, etc. secured through varying types of business structures and legal agreements.
Ensure the Pharmacy Department is well positioned to address emerging industry trends and requirements through the design, implementation, and enhancement of effective and efficient programs and processes.
Research, design, conduct financial assessment, prioritize and execute potential innovations. Devise metrics to measure solution and innovation success. Adjusts plans as needed to achieve desired outcomes.
Support the Chief Pharmacy Office to influence policy. Identify business challenges and translate them into hypotheses, research needs, and/or internally led solutions. Bring answers that drive/influence strategic decisions and long-term thinking.
Deploy design thinking to collect data, translate into insights, and incorporate into solutions.
Facilitate solution by leading a diverse set of stakeholders from ambiguity to answer and alignment.
Support a team-oriented environment, working cross-functionally with our various department business partners.
Work alongside CPO to ensure competitive financials with partnerships (PBM, vendors, etc.).

Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Health Care or related field (or equivalent experience) required.
Master's Degree preferred.
5+ years of experience in strategy, consulting, innovation, and/or business development.
5+ years in management with experience driving strategic change and improvement.
Experience in the manage care or health care industry.
Significant knowledge and understanding of strategic planning and business planning processes including financials, particularly as they relate to healthcare.
Strategic perspective, excellent business development skills, and the ability to clarify and summarize complex issues.
Distinctive analytical skills for assessing technical and financial issues.
Superior content-development capabilities. Able to convey complex concepts in a manner that others can understand at all levels of an organization.
Ability to effectively influence and communicate cross-functionally with all levels of management.
Ability to establish and maintain effective and collaborative relationships with key stakeholders.
Strong contract negotiation skills.
Strong interpersonal skills, including excellent written and communication skills.
Excellent organizational, decision-making, and multi-tasking skills.
Ability to prioritize multiple and competing tasks, work independently and in a team environment.
