The role you’ll contribute:
The Intake Planner collaborates with all Behavioral Health Services at Bolingbrook Hospital, GlenOaks Hospital, and Hinsdale Hospital. The Intake Planner coordinates and arranges for community access to the Behavioral Health programs and requires independent decision making and functioning. The Intake Planner provides initial contact for individuals seeking psychiatric and/or substance abuse assistance; provides telephone triage for community/crisis calls; and initiates contact with Managed Care companies, including precertification and benefit information. The Intake Planner makes arrangements for new admissions including orientation to the program for all new patients and follows up on patient calls and absences. The Intake Planner is also responsible for information entry and upkeep to databases; maintaining and submitting statistics; and charge entry audits. Excellent customer service skills are required.

•Audits daily charge entry to ensure accuracy
•Assesses need for follow-up contact with customers and initiates contact to pursue appropriate intervention
•Maintains knowledge and practices within regulatory standards
•Attends meetings pertinent to departments and reports pertinent information as required
•Demonstrates awareness of fiscal resources of department
•Maintains working knowledge of budgetary goals
•Demonstrates effective approaches to up-front cash collections and maintains appropriate documentation of collections
•Makes suggestions to Director/Clinical Manager for opportunities for increased productivity within Department
•Demonstrates effective communication skills; including service recovery skills
•Provides and fosters high quality service through positive interpersonal relations
•Demonstrates ability to prioritize and organize workload in an efficient and productive manner in the assigned work time
•Demonstrates professional appearance in accordance with dress code standards
•Opt-In participation in Emergency Notification System as applicable to facility
•Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
•Bachelor's degree required
•One year of position-related experience required (i.e., utilization review); Two years of position-related experience preferred
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION:
•Registered Nurse credentialed from the Illinois Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required
•BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 90 days of employment
•Formal de-escalation training obtained within 90 days of employment
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE STRONGLY PREFERRED:
•Excellent interpersonal skills and de-escalation skills in customer service matters
•Ability to document accurately
•Must be able to read, write and speak conversational English
•Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office
